Khaosan Road D & D Inn

After a one trip to Vientiane, Laos, this where my feet took me. D&D Inn in Khaosan Road. Khaosaon Road is a very well known street in Bangkok. This is where mostly back packers from all over the world stays. It is located near the tourist spots like the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew. 

Let's take a look at the D&D Inn's room. 

This was my bed with two clean towels. A single bed for 1,080 baht (one night) with free breakfast ( brewed coffee (there's milk and sugar if you like), sausages, ham, pineapple and orange juice, sunny side up eggs, pasta, a bread (there's a toaster if you prefer toasted bread), fruits (pineapple and water melon. By the way, breakfast is at Dang Derm Hotel just opposite of D&D Inn.

"The Bathroom"

This is the bathroom,size was okay. Shower is separated with a shower curtain. Hot and cold shower works good, with a shampoo and shower gel (I can't tell which one is which though) it's in that white thing hanging on the bathroom wall. There's a sink and a faucet with mirror. It's a clean bathroom so it's good. 

More about the room :) 

This was the tv in my room with cable so I was able to watch news (English). It's also a good size to me, so I was a happy customer. 

On the left side of the bed is a table with mirror, with a hair dryer, a menu in case you're hungry (just call), an ashtray for someone who's smoking (which is bad for you, so maybe you should quite,just saying). A full list of the bedroom things and its price including the door in case you broke something you already know how much you will pay. A suggestion paper, in case you wanted to suggest/suggests something. 

On the right side of the bed is where the telephone is, the tv's remote control, the open closet with seven hangers. Near the bedroom door is where the aircon buttons (no remote for aircon, and IDK how to make it cooler, so I was like feeling a little warm. 

Okay, let's go to the last floor, the seventh floor :) 

The seventh floor is where the pool is with 41 chairs to choose from. You can lay here all you want and feel the Bangkok sun, get a tan. I'm not sure how many feet the pool is but it is probably like 4 feet. You know why? Because I am like 4 feet 8 inches and when I went swimming the water level is only like on my neck, ha! They also have a mini bar, so you can sip a drink or two while enjoying the pool, the sun and the ladies wearing bikinis (joke). And oh above the roof of the minibar is a place where you can chill and take a look at the rest of Bangkok.  

On the same floor of the pool is a little garden. They also have this little wooden shade over looking the Khaosan Road.

This is the Khaosan Road. Took this when I was in that wooden shade. Yeah, it is a busy street but believe me it is so much busier at night. At night this street is full of vendors selling clothes, food and etc. This street also is surrounded by bars full of people from all walks of life, from all over the world, so I guess this is a good place to meet some new friends and maybe travel together, probably fall in love? Oh well! There's also one seven eleven, one KFC, across the street there's a Burger King and many other inn or small hotel on this street to choose from. 

So I guess this is a good place to stay for someone who's a party goer. Who's in for a drink or two or three or four or until you pass out, hahaha. For someone who likes to dance, or for someone who just like to sing along with the band. Over all, my stay wasn't bad I guess, the only problem is I didn't go here for a party and a drink, I went here to get some place to sleep for the night 'cause it's too late for me to go back to Rayong. I wasn't able to sleep until 4 a.m. because I was staying in the 6th floor and on the 7th floor, the mini bar was playing a loud music until 12 a.m., I can hear it from my room. Then insomnia strikes, so I was awake the whole night until 4 a.m. But I had a good day in the morning, had my breakfast at 8 a.m. and swim for an hour, do a little shopping, pack my bags and leave. By they way check out time is at 12 noon. Aside from paying the room, they also ask for 500 Baht deposit for the key, in case you lost it, you also lost your 500 Baht. So don't be clumsy, or don't get too drunk, haha. You can get the money back when you give back the key when you check out. And one more thing, they are doing some repairs so you will see some people doing construction work, but it doesn't bothers me 'cause it means they wanted to put some more improvements for a better service. Okay, so I think paying 1,080 at D&D Inn for one night is worth it.

Douang Pra Seuth Hotel Vientiane, Laos

This is the hotel where I stayed during my recent one day trip to Laos. It's a medium size hotel with 4 floors. Or maybe this is a tiny hotel to someone who's been in a five star hotel, the huge huge one (lol). It is located just opposite the Thai Consulate. One day stay would cost 1,500 Baht. That includes breakfast (bread, coffee, fruits, noodles, juice, and etc. and a free internet).

The Lobby

The lobby is where the reception area of the hotel is (of course). A snack and drink on the right side of the reception area. Next to the little snack area is the stairs going to the rooms. They also have elevator if you don't feel like climbing the stairs. Back to the lobby, there's two computers where guests can use for free (but I think it was totally useless when I was there because it is not connected to the internet and IDK why). I was trying to look for a place to stay in Bankok, I can use my phone though but I prefer to use a computer because I also wanted to print something. But that was fine. Anyway, still on the lobby, there were two waiting areas, a wood brown chairs with a table where the hotel's wifi name and password is placed. Another waiting area is a comfy couch where you can watch the television. The butterfly door next to the couch is the restaurant where they serve free breakfast. 

                     Okay, let's get inside the hotel's room. ジ

This was my bed. Yeah, I know there's two beds in there but I was staying alone (oh so sad) :P. I like that lacey clothe they put on top of the blanket and that another red and black shiny clothe they put above that lacey thing. I think because I'm a woman, and this lace and all the designs are like for women. Do you guys (men) like all these bed settings? I guess you don't care that much :). 

Let's check out the bathroom :) 

Bathroom was a good size. The size is not obvious in the picture but it's actually spacious. The hot and cold shower works well as well as the toilet bowl. The sink works good too. Bathroom is complete with tissue, a shampoo and a shower gel, a two toothbrush and a two tiny tiny toothpaste and a comb too plus a shower cup. I think there was a blower too (sorry, I forgot, sign of aging (lol).  And before I forgot (again) there was two towels, 'cause we all need to dry ourselves after taking a bath,ha!

Okay, few feet away from the bed is a mirror with a table and two chairs for you to look at yourself how you look like after a long hour ride in the van or a scary turbulence you experienced flying to Laos :P. There's also two tiny bottles of water for free. On the upper side of the mirror on the left, is where the aircon is, which works very well. On the right side of the mirror, the table and the chairs is where the television is and small fridge (empty), next to that as you can see is a rack or table or a rack table (really?) lol (IDK what it's called) with two flip flops (they are too big  for my feet :P). And next to that rack table (lol again) is the closet with like 6 hangers (I can't remember exactly how many hangers were there) but anyway, it's also a spacious closet, you can put all your clothes and feel at home :D! There's also that painting and I don't know why I include that, I guess it's just a nice one. :). On the side of the bed is a lampshade (it is where lampshade are located (of course) and a telephone, the tv and the dvd remotes. And oh by the way I tried to watch tv but I can't make it work, so if ever you stay here and want to watch the news or something just ask the staff. I hope they have a cable :). 

So, I think that was a good stay. For 1,500 Baht you get a comfy bed, a nice bathroom which is aside from the bed is the second important to me and a nice aircon (not noisy), a free internet and a free breakfast. The hotel staff are nice and smiling. They don't speak English language that much but they understand.

Patuxai Park Vientiane, Laos

On my recent trip to Laos, a Laotian friend took me to this place called Patuxai Park. It's one of Vientiane, Laos' local people and tourist attraction. There were actually tourist up above the monument. Those little yellow and white images on top of the monument was actually people. Didn't have time to go up because my friend is tired. 

According to Wikipedia, Patuxai, literally meaning Victory Gate or Gate of Triumph, formerly the Anousavary or Anosavari Monument, known by the French as Monument Aux Morts) is a war monument in the centre of Vientiane, Laos, which was built between 1957 and 1968. The Patuxai is dedicated to those who fought in the struggle for independence from France. In romanising the name from the Laotian language, it is variously transliterated as Patuxai, Patuxay, Patousai and Patusai. It is also called Patuxai Arch or the Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane as it resembles the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. However, it is typically Laotian in design, decorated with mythological creatures such as the kinnari (half-female, half-bird). The Patuxai is at the end of Lang Xang Avenue in the heart of Vientiane. Patuxay Park surrounds the monument.

In front of the Patuxai monument, is a musical fountain. This musical fountain is donated by China as a token of friendship.

Butterflies

We all know that butterflies are beautiful. The butterflies we feel in our stomach when we're in love is also a beautiful feeling. But I am talking about the real butterflies, those butterflies that flies. 

Okay, so what is butterfly? According to Wikipedia, butterflies are a chiefly diurnal group of the order Lepidoptera (which also includes moths). Adults have large, often brightly colored wings, and conspicuous, fluttering flight. The group comprise the true butterflies (superfamily Papilionoidea), the skippers (superfamilyHesperioidea) and the moth-butterflies (superfamily Hedyloidea). All the many other families within the Lepidoptera are referred to asmoths. The earliest known butterfly fossils date to the mid Eocene epoch, 40–50 million years ago. 

Last night, and it happens every night every time i turned on my bathroom light, butterflies comes in, flying around my bathroom staying close to my bathroom fluorescent lamp. Some of them just hang around my bathroom wall, my bathroom window, my bathroom mirror, my bathroom door, my bed, my clothes,my bathroom floor, on my bags, one of them even likes to hang out on my bra (hahaha) they're just everywhere.  

And because they are just so beautiful, I decided to take a pictures of them. In order to do that, I have to chase some of them because some of them don't likes paparazzi (lol).

This one wants to hang out on my bed. I keep putting it away so I can lay down 'cause it was like 3am. Finally it settled down on the floor near the fan. I think butterflies also likes air besides the light.

I slept like 4am last night but I woke up happy looking at these pictures. I know these are not the most beautiful butterflies. Most of you might have seen butterflies way prettier than these but for me they're just lovely. Thanks for reading. I hope somehow you like them. ♥ 

Ayutthaya Historical Park

According to Wikipedia, Ayutthaya historical park covers the ruins of the old city of Ayutthaya, Thailand. The city of Ayutthaya was founded by King Ramathibodi I in 1350 and was the capital of the country until its destruction by the Burmese army in 1767.

In 1969 the Fine Arts Department began with renovations of the ruins, which became more serious after it was declared a historical park in 1976. The park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. Thirty-five kings ruled the Ayutthaya kingdom during its existence. King Narai (1656 CE to 1688 CE) not only held court in Ayutthaya but also from his palace in the nearby city of Lopburi, from where he ruled 8–9 months in the year.

On the entrance side of the Ayutthaya Historical Park, there are these hardworking elephants showing the tourists their talents. It's pretty amazing how these big creatures moved their bodies.

They also have an elephant ride but I don't know how much is the price because I didn't get the chance to do it. Ayutthaya Historical Park is just one of the beautiful places you will find in Thailand. Plus what I like the most about Ayutthaya Historical Park is it is historically rich. I hope you find this post somehow useful. I'm sorry if some English sentences is not correct.
